We’re here to help you navigate the confusing landscape of E-Commerce shipping!
Having built a wide variety of online shop websites, we consider ourselves experts in the E-Commerce field at FreshySites – specifically WooCommerce – so we’re happy to offer our insight where it’s needed most.
Are you a merchant concerned with how much you should be charging for shipping?
You are not alone.
68% of merchants surveyed identified shipping costs as their biggest operational challenge.
As an online merchant, there are a bunch of different options for you to send your customers their products after they’ve purchased them online.
Here’s a run-down of the choices:
- Free Shipping
- Carrier-Calculated Shipping (CCS)
- Flat Rate
- Tiered Rates Based On Price Or Weight
- In-Store Pickup
An important thing to note is that any of these can be conditional based on the customer’s shipping address.
For example, if you are using CCS in the United States, you can change it up when shipping to Canada by increasing the CCS rates or using a different strategy altogether.
There can be as many different setups as you need! You can also do a combination of strategies, such as offering free shipping for orders $50 or more, and do a flat rate for orders under $50.
Over the course of a few posts, I’m going to break down these different shipping options available to online sellers, as well as the best strategy depending on what kind of seller you are.
