Checking color contrast for Section 508 compliance

We’ve found a pretty cool resource for checking the color contrast for Section 508 compliance when building websites. Section 508 is a mandate that all electronic and information technology developed, procured, maintained, or used by the federal government be accessible to people with disabilities. There are many aspects of this, but color contrast is a big one.

We’ve had past clients ask for this and we wanted to pass on this awesome resource for anyone else who may encounter it. The link below lets you test colors (both background and foreground) and tells you if the contrast passes or fails compliance.

To use, input the font color hex code as the foreground value, and then the background hex code of that section as the background value.
