Website Support

What Does It Mean To Be Part Of The Support Team?

There are a few definitions listed in the dictionary for the word “support.”

As a verb, it can mean:

  • To Sustain.
  • To Maintain.
  • To Assist.

These are all applicable.

As a noun, it means:

  • Someone or Something that Gives Aid or Assistance.
  • A Foundation.

These are applicable too.

As a member of the FreshySites Support Team, you need to provide both a solid foundation that others can count on and provide solutions to maintain that foundation.

Sometimes the day goes by in the blink of an eye. You never really know for sure what you’ll be asked to deal with when you walk in the door. Some days it can look like a flood of non-stop emails. Others, it’s screen shares and larger project deadlines all needed in the same day.

The one constant is you’ll be in and out of dozens of websites the entire time. Often, you’ll be learning something new with each that you visit. The variation is key as not all sites are exactly the same. You’ll need to constantly adjust to meet the needs for each – and that’s a good thing.

In other words, some days are incredibly busy.

That being said, in the end it’s all about people helping people.

It’s important to remember to put yourself in the place of the person on the other side of the screen.

What would you want if it were you? Make sure that their needs are met and remember to take a breath for yourself when you need to.

When you’re part of a team, it means you have to help when you’re needed. Being part of the Support Team means not only helping out clients, but each other.

The dependability of co-workers is one of the strongest aspects of our Support Team here at FreshySites. There’s always someone there to give you advice, or a laugh, when you need it. In turn, you need to remember to give that back to your teammates.

If a company is a garden and the work they do are plants, support is the sunlight and water that help those continue to grow.

There can be many kinds of plants: herbs, flowers, vegetables – they’re all a little different. They all require different levels of care. Some do better when given the right soil and location and can thrive with less care. Others need more attention and maintenance. The same is true for the work we do here.

So what does it mean to be part of our Support Team?

I can only speak for myself but, to me it means this:

Providing the best help you can where needed, constantly learning and improving, and remembering to take a break from watering the metaphorical plants to water the real ones.
