Security Alert Summary
The Form Maker by 10Web – Mobile-Friendly Drag & Drop Contact Form Builder plugin allows stored cross-site scripting (XSS) via the Mark on Map longitude/latitude fields in versions up to and including 1.15.47. Insufficient input sanitization and output escaping permit unauthenticated attackers to inject scripts that execute when an affected page is viewed.

Technical Details
The plugin contains a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability in the Mark on Map longitude/latitude fields. Because input is not sufficiently sanitized on input and not properly escaped on output, attacker-supplied script can be stored and later rendered in pages that display the injected data. The vulnerability allows unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts that will execute in the context of users who view the affected pages.
The underlying issue is insufficient input validation and output escaping for map coordinate fields; the CVE description identifies the longitude/latitude fields for the Mark on Map feature as the vulnerable vector. The impact is script execution in victims’ browsers when they load pages containing injected values.
How This Could Impact Your Website
Consider a site with a site owner, internal staff who manage forms, and an external contractor who helps add form entries. An unauthenticated attacker could submit malicious content via the Mark on Map longitude/latitude fields. When an internal staff member or the site owner views a page or form submission that displays those map values, the injected script could run in their browser.
Practical consequences include limited exposure of data visible to the rendered page (for example, internal user email addresses displayed in the same context) and an increased risk of targeted phishing or social engineering aimed at staff who interact with form data. This vulnerability does not inherently indicate remote code execution on the server, but it does raise the chance of browser-based account compromise or credential theft through social engineering.
If youre unsure whether your site is affected or how to assess your current user roles and plugins, it may be worth having a professional review.
Recommended Actions
- Update the affected plugin as soon as a patched version is available.
- Review and reduce unnecessary user roles, especially contributor-level accounts.
- Enforce strong passwords and enable two-factor authentication for editors and administrators.
- Remove unused or unmaintained plugins.
