The Difference Between Your Email & Your Website

This is a question we get a lot here at FreshySites. Say you’ve had a beautiful, custom website designed by one of the pro designers here at FreshySites. You love it, your clients love it — even your grandma loves it! Your site looks amazing and is all cozy, living at your unique address. Something like: myamazingbusiness.com.

Now, you’ve also got an email address or two. Probably something like: [email protected] right? You get lots of potential customers emailing you every day and rely on this for all your day-to-day communication.

What if you start getting some emails bouncing back all of a sudden or your contact form isn’t sending you submissions? Not great!

Your email and your website share the same name: myamazingbusiness.com.

Wouldn’t it make sense to reach out to the Support Team at FreshySites to get some help with this?

Well…it’s actually not that simple.

See, your email might share it’s address, your domain name, with your website.

However, your email is actually on an entirely separate platform from your website.

Your website is its own beast and so is your email. They’re two unique items that both make use of your domain. In this case, it’s myamazingbusiness.com.

Any issues with your website will be contained there and any with your email will only be with your email platform.

All of that makes sense, but you’re still having an issue relating to your email, right?

Well, we’re here to help.

If we find that the issue is something like emails bouncing, that’s an issue contained to your email only. Then we’ll let you know the best way to get help with that.

Most likely this will mean reaching out to you email provider. (If you’re not sure who this is, we can help you figure that out. If you’re looking to switch providers, check out this article).

If the issue is that you aren’t receiving a submission from your form, this could be an issue with the website!

Either way, we’re here to answer your questions, so always feel free to reach out to our Support Team at [email protected].
