We’re offering our top email marketing strategy recommendations.
1. Don’t Over Do It.
If you want to know what I’m talking about, go to your email account, click and check out your spam folder. It’s littered with emails that have weird fonts, emoji’s and way too many capital letters.
You wouldn’t email a friend like that, so don’t email your customers like that. Email them from a personal email with a name they can reference.
Be personable and be direct.
2. Be Direct in Your Subject
I see a lot of emails that will attempt to entice you in the subject line. Titles like “You Won’t Believe Me” are a little creepy and they rarely fool anyone. Email marketing has been around for a very long time. People don’t get fooled as easy as they used to.
If your email appears to be an ad even just a little bit, there will be a huge disconnect.
Try subject lines that give more insight to what the email is about. If you’re a vacuum cleaner company and you want to email coupons out, put the whole email narrative in the subject! “Hi! Here’s a Coupon for 40% off of our Premium Vacuum Cleaning.”
It’s simple, direct, and provides value up front. It’s a win-win.
3. Attach “(Personal)” to Your Email Name
Try adding “(Personal)” to your email name! This will help the customer remember that you’re a personal friend of the customer and you have more to offer than just an ad!
