FreshySites is excited to share that Lauren Perry, account manager for the Scranton location, has successfully completed the Leadership Lackawanna Core Program as a member of the Class of 2016-2017.
Leadership Lackawanna is a 10-month program in which participants gain leadership, interpersonal and managerial skills, as well as an enhanced understanding of the issues relevant to the greater Scranton area. Areas of focus within the program include community development, economic development, government, health care, law, education, quality of life, sustainability, history, and media.
In addition to monthly sessions led by locally recognized professionals, members of the class also dedicate a significant portion of their time to developing and implementing community projects. These projects help to further enhance leadership abilities and foster teamwork, while ultimately benefiting local nonprofit organizations. This year’s projects worked to benefit the Artists for Art (AFA) Gallery, Friends of the Poor & St. Joseph’s Center.
The accomplishments of the Core Graduates and their projects were recognized last week at the Celebration of Leadership dinner and graduation ceremony. Graduates had a chance to celebrate with family, friends and coworkers as well as the incoming 2018 Core Program class and fellow Leadership Lackawanna Alumni.
