Freshy worked with the CTech team to break this large scale, long term project into realistic project phases. We first worked through the site architecture and redefined which pages would be most beneficial to CTech and how those pages should be structured both in the menu and title and URL. From there we worked alongside the CTech team to wireframe each key page, which showed how each page should flow from top to bottom, which sections should be included and where, as well as what type of content (text and image) is needed in each section. This intensive process helped both teams ensure that the pages were being constructed with CTech’s goals and customers in mind.
After the preliminary website structure work, we broke the development phases out into several smaller parts so that the CTech team could focus on distinct sections of the site, instead of being overwhelmed by the large scale project. This work included migrating their products over from their existing website and integrating their custom configurator that was pre-built by the CTech team as a WordPress plugin.
We underwent several revision and testing rounds with the CTech team to ensure that their site looked the way they wanted it to and worked in the manner they expected it to.
After the successful website launch, CTech moved to one of our retained services programs so the Freshy team could continue to assist them with their ongoing website needs.
Ongoing maintenance & retained services summary
After the initial site launched, the CTech team wanted an ongoing plan in place to continue working on their website. They now work with the Freshy retained services team for their ongoing maintenance and website development needs.
The retained services program includes standing weekly one-on-one meetings with Freshy, as well as prioritized support within their own custom workboard. The Freshy team not only assists with basic support requests such as styling or content updates, but larger ongoing functionality requests as well.
One example of a larger project covered under the retained services agreement was the expansion of shipping capabilities and rules for a specific product category. Now their parts products have unique shipping rules and don’t rely on a 3rd party shipping integration which was found to be overcharging their customers.
Finally, to ensure ongoing continuity and site security, the Freshy team runs all of the CTech site plugin and theme updates once a month. This process involves spinning up a staging website, making all of the updates, and then troubleshooting any issues that are uncovered during the updates. Once the Freshy team is satisfied with any adjustments needed, we coordinate the updates to push to the live site.
