Article from News Channel 34

From the Office of the Mayor:

Today, Mayor Matt Ryan joined representatives of the Binghamton Local Development Corporation (BLDC), Entrepreneurial Assistance Program (EAP), Broome Community College and Press & Sun Bulletin to announce the winner of the 5th Annual BLDC-EAP Business Plan Competition: FreshySites.

“Each year the Business Plan Competition highlights the spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation characterizes our area,” said Mayor Ryan. “Small businesses, like FreshySites, are the backbone of our local economy, and I am pleased at the partnership between the BLDC and EAP to help industrious citizens realize their dreams of owning their own business and putting their plans into action.”

FreshySites, an affordable, custom designed websites company, is located at 37 Court Street, and has been in business since January 2012. The company prides itself on delivering great looking websites, at affordable fees and being highly responsive to their customers, including exceptionally quick turn-around.

Owner Ben Giordano, a native of the area, earned his degree in marketing management from Virginia Tech, and returned to the area in 2008. The company will use the prize money to work with Binghamton University to hire an intern or part-time employee, and will invest in capital equipment, such as new computers and other hardware.

At FreshySites, we’re super thrilled to have received this great honor. We’re going to keep investing in the Greater Binghamton area and hope to be here for a long time to come!
