We are excited to share this week’s featured website – Join Binghamton Police Department!
FreshySites recently had the opportunity to take part in a Binghamton city initiative. Mayor Richard C. David approached FreshySites with a request to create a website which would serve as a recruiting tool for the Binghamton Police Department in order to increase interest in careers within the local police force.
“As the largest local law enforcement agency in the Southern Tier, the Binghamton Police Department is a great place for young men and women to succeed,” said Mayor David. “We’re doing more than ever to attract young and talented individuals from all walks of life to become police officers.”
The goal of this initiative is to help inspire members of the local community to consider career opportunities in law enforcement by raising awareness of the Binghamton Police Department’s role in the community and educating prospective cadets on the various career opportunities within the BPD.
Founded in 1867, the Binghamton Police Department makes every attempt to involve the community in generating mutual understanding and cooperation between the residents and the police. Involving the community enhances both police and resident knowledge of public safety issues in the city. The police and community working together makes the City of Binghamton a better place to live, work and raise a family.
The new website serves as a platform to share information about the profession and helps the police department promote current job openings and opportunities. Interested candidates are able to view job descriptions for current postings and even download the Binghamton Police Department Exam directly from the site.
While all Binghamton Police Officers start their career in a patrol car, BPD offers exciting and rewarding opportunities for career advancement and specialization. Site visitors are able to explore an extensive portfolio that offers an explanation of duties for these specialized divisions. This not only demonstrates to potential cadets the great career paths that could be ahead of them, but also gets them started on narrowing down where their interests and passions lie within the field.
Binghamton Police Department will be hosting a career open house on Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall where officers will talk to prospective recruits about the civil service testing process and job requirements. Anyone interested in a law enforcement career is encouraged to attend this workshop and to check out their new website today at joinbpd.com!
