BCC SEED Entrepreneur Students Seeking FREE Summer Internship Opportunity

The below is from Dominic DePersis, a professor at BCC who is looking to land some good internships for their current business exchange students. If you have a business and are interested, please give him a call!

Hello!

My name is Dominic DePersis. I am a professor at Broome Community College in the Business Department. Laura Knochen-Davis suggested that I contact you in hopes that you would distribute the enclosed information about needed internships for our BCC SEED Entrepreneur Students this summer.

We have 19 very bright and enthusiastic students from Haiti and Columbia with us at BCC studying Entrepreneurship through a special grant administered by USAID and Georgetown University. During this summer we will place the students with local businesses for 90 hours. These students are recognized as future leaders in their home communities and were selected in a very competitive process. The students speak Spanish and English and in a few cases French, Spanish, and English. The students can be on-site or work from BCC campus on things they are assigned by a businessperson. The students cannot be paid. Some ideas we have about things that the students can do include: create or update a Facebook page, shadowing, customer survey, cold calls, internet research, and organizing. The students have excellent computer skills and are very motivated. The 90 hours can be completed as quickly or slowly as desired as long as the students have the hours completed by around August 1. At the end of the 90 hours we ask that the business please write a statement telling that the student did complete 90 hours of unpaid experience and sign the statement.

If you are able to work with one or two students please supply me with the following information:
