This short post of yours prompted me to look at my 2011
stats for my personal blog at braddlibby.wordpress.com
Last year I went a few months without posting anything and found that, during my dry spell, my blog’s traffic went up, not down.
Maybe my blog isn’t a good guide, since I only publish once a week on average, or maybe the flip side to your ‘the more the better’ advice is: Don’t worry too much about not posting for a few weeks (or months).
Thanks for the comments Bradd, I really appreciate your viewpoint on this.
I would never say the statement I made above – “The More You Write The Better Your Results Will Be.” is a strict rule. The context I have made the statement in implies that it is a broadly based statement already as I am saying this is my “standard reply” to a nondescript group of customers. Surely the scientific amount each company should blog would be different depending on marketing goals and objectives, target market, product positioning, etc, etc, etc.
However, most people don’t really want to (or need to) get into that kind of detail concerning frequency of posting. That’s why I usually give this much more simple and mostly accurate response!
